Free and Pro

Free, forever, and with no account at all. Deixis never asks you to sign in to dictate. Nothing that runs on your machine is metered or gated: all dictation, free mode, screen capture and annotation, hands-free notes, history and export, the dictionary, all five vocabulary packs plus your own, both speech models, custom buttons, and webhook integrations to your own URLs. Meeting mode is in that list: the recording and the transcription happen on this machine, so a meeting records, transcribes and writes transcript.md with no key, no account and no network.

The cloud features are free too, with your own provider key. What can leave the machine on your provider key is the five cloud rows of the table at the top — cleanup escalation, translate, meeting notes, a meeting's title and a screen recording's title and summary — and every one of them goes to the endpoint you configure. Set DEIXIS_PROVIDER_KEY and the request carries your key: the Worker uses it for that one call and never stores it — it has no database in front of it, and all it records is a line of counts and timings. Your key, your billing, no account with us. This is a supported path, not a loophole.

Meeting notes additionally need a Worker that serves /summarize, which the deployed one does (verified 28 August 2026). The meeting itself never depends on it — notes are the last, failure-tolerant step, and Regenerate notes retries them.

Pro is the managed convenience: the same cloud features with no key to obtain and no setup, with Deixis running the inference. $49/year, or $10/month — the annual price is roughly half what paying monthly costs.

A team can pay instead of the people in it. A team buys seats, a seat covers a member, and somebody on one needs no subscription of their own; per-seat prices fall in volume and are set with the payment provider rather than in the software. The trial is seven days of the managed cloud features, and you start it when you want it. It does not begin on the day you install: on your account page (Sign in, at the top right of the app) you give an email address, a six-digit code arrives, and the seven days run from there. No card, no password, and nothing to cancel. Signing in again on a second machine gives that machine its own token without restarting the clock.

That it is opt-in is the point. A clock started quietly at install is a clock the user meets exactly once — on the day it runs out — and an explicit "start my trial" is also the only moment at which anyone will hand over an address to ask how it went.

Only the cloud extras are ever on the trial:

When the trial ends the cloud features stop and everything local keeps working exactly as before — nothing is taken away, and nothing stops working offline. With your own provider key, none of it applies: the trial exists only for the tier where we are paying for the inference.

There is an invisible fair-use ceiling on the trial, in place of the bound the old credit allowance had by construction. It is set well past a heavy day's real use — reaching it means something is running that is not a person dictating — and it lifts at midnight UTC. The exact figure is in the source, with the reasoning behind it.

So a subscription buys convenience, not capability. Every cloud feature is open to anyone with their own key, free, forever.
