Delete your account

You can have your Deixis account and the data held with it deleted at any time, and you do not need the app installed to ask. Here is how, what goes, and what we are obliged to keep.

How to ask

In the app — the fastest way

Open Settings › Account, scroll to Delete account and tap Delete my account. You are shown exactly what goes and asked to confirm; the second tap does it, immediately and for good. No email, no waiting.

If you have a live subscription the app asks you to cancel it first — Manage subscription, on the same screen. That is so you are not left being charged for something we no longer hold a record of, and it takes two taps.

By email — if the app is gone

Write to support@deixis-voice.com from the address your account uses, asking for your account to be deleted. Sending from that address is how we know the request is yours; if you cannot, write anyway and we will find another way to check. Use this route if you have already uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in to it.

We act within 30 days, and normally within a few working days. You get a reply confirming it is done.

If you only want to stop paying, you do not need this page: cancel from Settings › Account › Manage subscription in the app, which keeps your access to the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the account cancels the subscription as well, immediately, with no refund of the current period.

What is deleted

  • Your account — the email address, when your trial or subscription began and ends, and the labels of the devices signed in.
  • Every sign-in — the tokens on your devices stop working. The apps keep dictating; only the cloud features stop.
  • Anything you shared — the notes, screenshots and screen recordings behind your share links are deleted from our storage, and the links stop working for anyone holding them.
  • Your subscription — cancelled at the payment provider.

What stays on your device, and is yours to remove

Your dictations, notes, meeting recordings, transcripts, history and dictionary are written to the app's own storage on your device. We never receive them, so there is nothing on our side to delete — deleting them in the app, or uninstalling it, is what removes them. The audio captured for recognition is never uploaded at all.

With one exception, and it is above rather than here: anything you chose to share as a link was uploaded to us, because that is what a share link does. Those files are covered by the list above and go when the account does — and they expire on their own within ninety days regardless. A shared screen recording includes your microphone audio; a meeting recording cannot be shared at all. The privacy policy sets out the whole of what leaves your device.

What we have to keep, and for how long

Records of payments — the amount, date and status of each one, and the invoice it belongs to. Tax and company law require these to be kept for a number of years and we cannot delete them on request. They are financial records, not a profile: they are not used for anything else, and your email address is removed from the account they were attached to.

Ordinary service logs record that a request happened and whether it failed — never the text of it — and age out on their own within days.
