Recommend Deixis and earn from every payment, for life

Who it is for

Anyone who recommends Deixis. Somebody who writes about the tools they use, a trainer who shows a class how to dictate, a consultant who sets up laptops for clients, a colleague who sends a link round the office, a person with a newsletter, a channel or a busy group chat. You do not need to be a developer, a customer or a company, and you do not need a website: a link in a message works as well as a link on a page.

What you are recommending is easy to explain. Deixis is private voice typing for Windows, Mac and Android: hold a key, speak, and clean, punctuated text appears wherever you were typing. Speech recognition happens on the person's own device, and everything that leaves it is listed, byte by byte. Everything that runs on the device is free, forever, with no account. Pro, at $49 a year or $10 a month, adds the cloud extras with nothing to set up: cleanup, translation, meeting notes and share links. Team puts the same on one subscription for a whole team, a seat per person.

So the people you send are not being sold anything to get started. They can install Deixis free and use it for as long as they like. You earn when, and if, they decide the cloud extras are worth paying for, and from then on for as long as they keep paying.

How it works

1. Sign up. Become an affiliate with your email address: we send you a code, you choose the name your link carries, and you tick the box that accepts the terms. Your link works as soon as you have.
2. Share your link. It looks like deixis-voice.com/r/jane and opens the Deixis home page. To send somebody to a particular page, such as the Mac page or a comparison, name it at the end: deixis-voice.com/r/jane?to=/mac. Your affiliate page writes these for the pages most worth linking, and gives you a direct Windows download link with your name in it as well.
3. Earn when they pay. When somebody who came through your link pays for Pro or Team, your share of that payment is recorded, and the same happens with every payment they make after it.

Following your link leaves a small cookie in the person's browser that holds your link's name and nothing else, for 60 days. Our privacy policy says exactly what it is for. From there:

• On Windows, the copy of Deixis they download from our site in that time carries your link's name, so when they sign in to it, their account is linked to you.
• On a Mac, the installer cannot carry a name. If their account is not linked to anybody when they first go to pay, the checkout, which opens in their browser, finds the cookie and links them to you. The same goes for anybody on Windows whose copy came from somewhere else.
• The first affiliate recorded for a person is the one who counts. A link they follow later, yours or anybody else's, does not move them.
• Our own ads count as a first touch too. Somebody who clicked one of our ads before following your link already carries our cookie, so they are not linked to you.

What you earn

10% of every Pro or Team payment a person linked to you makes, for life: their first payment, every renewal, a change of plan, a new subscription after a break. A Team payment counts in full, every seat included.

The 10% is of what the customer paid after any discount, after tax, and after the payment-processing fee on that payment. On the published prices, with no tax and a card issued outside the US:

• Pro for a year, $49. The processing fee is about $3.34, which leaves $45.66. You earn about $4.57, and the same again every year they renew.
• Pro by the month, $10. The fee is about $1, which leaves $9. You earn 90 cents a month, or $10.80 over a year.

Twenty people on yearly Pro earn you about $91 a year, every year they stay. On a card issued in the US the fee is a little lower, so you earn a little more. Tax, where it applies, is added on top of the price at checkout and never earns commission.

The people you bring pay the published price, the same as anyone else. Your share comes out of ours. Special terms are agreed with some affiliates, one by one; everybody else is on the terms on this page from the day they sign up.

How and when you are paid

• Each payment's commission is on hold for 30 days, so that a refund in that time can be taken back before anything is paid. Then it becomes available.
• On the 1st of every month, if $50 or more is available and your payout details are saved, all of it is paid out, within the first ten days of that month. Below $50, it stays in your balance and goes out with the first month it reaches $50.
• By bank transfer, in rand, euros or US dollars. Rand go to a South African bank account; euros to any IBAN, or to a Wise account; US dollars to a bank account in the US, or to a Wise account. We do not send US dollars to banks outside the US, because the transfer fees would eat up to half of a $50 payout; if you are elsewhere, a Wise account takes them, and it is free to open.
• We pay what it costs to send it. The amount is worked out in US dollars and converted at the rate on the day it is sent, and the email that says it is on its way gives both figures.

So a customer who pays on 5 March earns you commission that is on hold until 4 April and goes out in the payout of 1 May, with everything else available by then.

Your affiliate page shows all of it: visits through your link, downloads, sign-ups, paying customers, what is on hold, what is available, what has been paid and when the next payout is due. Each customer is an anonymous row, such as "Customer 7 · joined Oct 2026 · Pro yearly", never a name or an email address.

What counts and what does not

Every Pro or Team payment from a person linked to you counts, for as long as they pay, provided their first payment comes within three months of their being linked to you. These do not:

• Your own purchases. Your own account never earns you commission, and is left out automatically. Accounts that turn out to be yours under another address are left out too, with anything they had earned.
• People who never pay. Free use of Deixis earns nothing, however much they use it.
• A first payment more than three months after they were linked to you. That payment decides it for good: nothing is earned on it or on any payment after it.
• Somebody who was already paying, or already linked to another affiliate or partner, before they came through your link.
• Somebody one of our own ads brought first. If they clicked one of our ads in the 60 days before your link, in the same browser, the ad was their first touch and they are linked to nobody.
• Refunded payments. A refund takes back the commission that payment earned, in proportion: half refunded, half taken back. If it was already paid out, the next commission you earn pays it back first.
• A plain ?ref= on a page. Only your /r/ link leaves the cookie. Many sites add ?ref= and their own name to every link they send, so it is ignored.

How you may promote Deixis is in the terms: no ads on searches for Deixis itself, no spam, no pretending to be us, and no coupon or incentive sites. Breaking those rules gets your commission held while we look into it.
