Affiliate terms

What you earn

• 10% of every Pro or Team payment a customer linked to you makes, for life: their first payment, every renewal, a change of plan, a new subscription after a lapse. On Team, the whole team payment counts, every seat included.
• Of what the customer paid after any discount, after tax, and after the payment-processing fee on that payment. On a $49 year of Pro with no tax and a card issued outside the US, the fee is about $3.34, which leaves $45.66 and earns you about $4.57.
• Special terms are agreed with some affiliates, one by one. Where we have agreed them with you, they replace the rate above, and the rest of these terms still apply.

Which customers are yours

• A customer is linked to you when their account is first recorded with your link's name: when they sign in to a copy of Deixis for Windows downloaded through your link, or, if their account is linked to nobody when they first go to pay, when the checkout finds the cookie your link left in their browser. That cookie lasts 60 days.
• First touch. The first affiliate or partner recorded for a customer keeps them. A link they follow later does not move them.
• Our own ads are a first touch as well. Clicking one of our ads leaves a cookie of the same kind in the person's browser, holding our own name. A customer who clicked one before following your link is linked to no affiliate, and earns nobody commission.
• Their first payment must come within three months of their being linked to you. That first payment decides it for good: if it comes later, nothing is earned on it or on any payment after it.
• A customer who had already paid for Deixis before being linked to you never counts.
• Your own purchases never count. Your own account is left out automatically, by its email address. When we find other accounts that are yours, under another address or in your company's name, we take them out, with anything they had earned. If that commission was already paid out, your balance goes below zero, and the next commission you earn pays it back first.

Holds and payouts

• Each payment's commission is on hold for 30 days, then becomes available.
• On the 1st of each month, if at least $50 is available and your payout details are saved, we pay all of what is available, within the first ten days of that month. Less than $50 stays in your balance until it reaches $50.
• By bank transfer, in rand (ZAR), euros (EUR) or US dollars (USD) only. Rand go to a South African bank account; euros to an IBAN or a Wise account; US dollars to a bank account in the US or a Wise account. We do not send US dollars to banks outside the US.
• We pay the cost of sending each payout. The amount is set in US dollars and converted at the rate on the day it is sent.

Refunds

A refunded payment earns nothing. A full refund takes back all of the commission that payment earned, and a partial refund takes back the same share of it. If that commission was already paid out, your balance goes below zero, and the next commission you earn pays it back first.

How you may promote Deixis

Recommend Deixis honestly, in your own words. You may not:

• bid on Deixis's name in search ads: no ads shown on searches for "Deixis", "Deixis Voice" or misspellings of them;
• send spam: no messages, emails or comments to people who did not ask for them;
• pretend to be Deixis or Dappit: no pages, accounts, ads or messages that look like ours or suggest that they come from us;
• use coupon and incentive sites: no listings on coupon or discount-code sites, and no paying or rewarding people to sign up or subscribe through your link.

Suspension

We may suspend an affiliate who breaks these terms, or while we look into something that suggests it, such as promotion these terms forbid or accounts that look like your own. While you are suspended, your commission is held and not paid out, and new customers are not linked to you. When we have looked into it, we either reinstate you and release what was held, or close the account.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, the rate included, after telling you by email 30 days before. A change applies only to customers whose first payment comes after it takes effect: a customer keeps the rate that applied when they first paid.

Tax

You are responsible for any tax on what you earn, wherever you live.
