Partner terms: what you save, and what you earn

What you save

The drop-in mic sends a user who does not have Deixis through Deixis's cloud, and you prepay for those minutes. Every take that goes that way says so in a quiet line beside the mic, with the offer of Deixis behind it. When one of your users takes the offer, the mic on your pages dictates on their own computer instead, and those takes cost you nothing. That saving is yours every month, whether or not they ever pay us anything.

Commission is the second reason, and the rest of this page is its terms.

What you earn

• 20% of every Pro or Team payment a user who came to Deixis through you ever makes: their first, every renewal, a new subscription after a lapse, a change of plan. For as long as they are a customer.
• On Team, 20% of the whole team payment, every seat included.
• Of what the customer paid for the plan, after any discount and before tax.
• Only when their first payment comes within three months of their being linked to you (below). That first payment decides it for good: if it comes later, nothing is earned on it or ever after.

A year of Pro is $49. Where no tax applies, that earns you $9.80, and $9.80 again every year they pay. Pro by the month is $10, which earns you $2 a month on the same terms.

Nothing is earned on credit packs you buy, on users who never pay, on a user who was already paying before they were linked to you, or on your own accounts: yours, your staff's or your company's. When we find one, we take it out of your commission, with anything it had already earned. If you had already converted that commission or been paid it, your balance goes below zero, and the next commission you earn pays it back first, as with a refund.

Which partner a user belongs to

• A user is linked to you when they sign in to Deixis on a computer that came through you.
• Your install link counts first. That is the Deixis download link carrying your name.
• If there is no install link, the first website the user connected Deixis to counts, if that website is one of yours. Deixis remembers only the first website, of any kind.
• If the two name different partners, the install link wins.
• On a Mac, only the website can count, because the Mac installer cannot carry the link.
• It is settled at their first payment, and nothing that happens afterwards moves them to another partner.

Your commission balance

Commission is a balance of its own, kept apart from your cloud credit. Each payment's share becomes available at the start of the following month (UTC), and from then it is yours: it never expires. Until then it shows as accruing.

From what is available, you can:

• Turn any amount into cloud credit, from your partner page, whenever you like. That credit lasts a year from the day you convert it, like a pack, and pays for cloud dictation with the rest of your credit.
• Ask for $50 or more of it in cash, once that much is available, on your partner page or by email. We pay cash quarterly, by hand.

Your partner page, the signed link we send you, shows what is available, what is still accruing, and what you have converted or been paid.

Refunds

A refunded payment earns nothing, so its share comes off your commission, and a partial refund takes off that part. If you had already converted that commission or been paid it, your balance goes below zero for a while, and the next commission you earn pays it back first. It never comes out of your cloud credit, a pack or your free minutes. If you never earn more, we write it off.

The conditions

Every take that goes through the cloud is marked by a line beside the mic that says so, usually "Transcribed in the cloud by Deixis". To earn commission, keep that line visible on your pages. You may restyle it; you may not hide it. Somebody whose voice went through a cloud should be told so, every time.

We may hold your commission while we look into something, such as a hidden cloud line or accounts that look like your own. It keeps building up while it is held, but it cannot be converted or paid out until we release it.
